Gavin R Powell M.D.
Gavin R Powell M.D. graduated with honors from University of Texas Southwestern Medical School at Dallas in 1995. Following medical school Dr Powell completed a 3 year family medicine residency in Ft Collins, Colorado and was board certified by American Board of Family Practice in 1998. He then spent 3 years practicing family medicine in Nampa, Idaho. It was during this time that he realized his desire to focus his skills in the specialty of Dermatology.
In 2001 Dr. Powell matriculated the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver, where over the next 3 years he spent in intensive study of the specialty of Dermatology. During this time he received specialized training from leaders in the field of Dermatology and developed his skills in both adult and pediatric dermatology, pathology of the skin, skin cancer surgery and facial reconstruction, laser surgery and cosmetic dermatology, soft tissue fillers (collagen, Restylane injection), botox and dermabrasion. His particular areas of interest include the treatment of vitiligo with Narrow Band UVB Phototherapy, light/laser based skin rejuvenation and skin cancer treatment.
In August 2004, he became a diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology and he is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. He is a published author in the specialty of Dermatology and is active academically, teaching fellow physicians, medical students and the community about the science of skincare.
Upon completion of his training Dr. Powell decided to return with his family to Canyon County because he appreciated the quality of life in the treasure valley and saw the need for quality full service skincare in the community.
Since the Dermatology Center of Canyon County opened in August 2004, Dr. Powell’s vision for a medical practice staffed by knowledgeable, skilled, and friendly people who place patient care as their priority, has taken shape. Dr. Gavin R. Powell is excited about the future of Dermatology Center of Canyon County and he and his staff looks forward to providing you and your family state of the art skincare.
Seth Permann P.A.C.
Seth Permann P.A.C. (Physicians Assistant Certified) is a native of southeastern Idaho. Seth received his bachelor’s degree in neuroscience from Brigham Young University. It was during his time at BYU that he became interested in studying medicine. Seth graduated from Idaho State University with a Masters of Physician Assistant Studies. He is a member of the Society of Dermatologic Physicians Assistants.
Seth was asked to join the staff of Dermatology Center of Canyon County because Dr. Powell recognized his interest and commitment to the specialty of Dermatology. Seth also possesses a graceful bedside manor and is committed to quality patient care making him a natural fit for DCCC. He has received extensive training from Dr. Powell in the specialty of Dermatology and assists Dr. Powell in all aspects of patient care, as well as actively managing his own patients within the practice. Seth looks forward to seeing you for your skincare needs.
Helen Godfrey
Licensed Aesthetician, Helen Godfrey, provides conscientious and compassionate care all the while tending to your personalized needs. Helen’s nurturing quality is sure to help you achieve the results you desire. Helen received her aesthetics training at Dee Dee’s Meridian School of Beauty where she graduated top of her class in 2000 and received Idaho and Arizona Aesthetician licensure. Prior to entering the field of Aesthetics she was trained as a dental surgical assistant and currently directly assists Dr. Gavin R. Powell M.D. with skin cancer surgery and facial reconstruction.
Helen continues to expand her knowledge of new techniques, research and product information within aesthetic skincare. She has completed additional post graduate work at the National Aesthetic Institute of Scottsdale, Arizona and the Glymed Institute of Skin Sciences in Utah. Helen has been trained and Certified by Candela in the use of the Ellipse Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) and Gentlelase Laser systems. Currently, Helen offers Laser hair removal, Foto facials, which remove superficial vascular lesions, age spots and sun damage. She is also skilled at providing facials, light chemical peels and microdermabrasion. Helen’s passion for her profession truly shines through to all those who know her.
